About me and the Rallye
First saw the Rallye on ebay sounded perfect just what I was looking for, it didn’t have any pics so I went to go have a look at it, was pleasantly surprised when got to Hinckley. It was the mileage that attracted me to this one even though it hardly had any MOT, I wacked in a bid not expecting to win it at this crazy price (£700ish) and did. Went to pick up the car, started it up and it was real rough, luckily it was just the manifold gasket. Much to my horror the kid had hardly any oil in it, thought I may have landed myself a ropey example. Now with no MOT I knew that it was a priority to get the stuff done asap so I could drive the thing. I took it to the local garage and put it through the MOT knowing it would fail. I was surprised to find that it didn’t do too bad, failed on “serious exshaust leak”, suspension springs were incorrectly put on (stupidly low at the front), cv gaiter leaking, 2 tyres. Luckily Matt (dynofiend) acquired me some VTR springs off Dunc (cheers again) and that sorted out the ride height back to standard. Next came some a problem with the engine cutting out everytime it came out of gear, thought this could be expensive and require lots of parts. Had a chat with matt (dyno) and took it to his clinic, he worked his magic and it was as good as new. Now it was time to enjoy the car!.
